Apture Going Google for Web and Image Search…

Andrew Machado

Over the last few months we have been updating Apture with LinkedIn, Bing and today we are launching Google Search Results within Apture.

1.  Google Image Search

If you look under Images Apture now by default surfaces photos from Google related to your search term.  This has been a major request from users and judging by the feedback on our Fan Page people are excited.

2.  Google Web Search Results

Under the Web Pages tab within Apture now will display results from Google for whatever you are looking for.  It is set by default to display whatever Google deems most relevant.

We hope these additions make finding the content you want for your blog post that much easier.  Drop us a note on our Facebook Page or Twitter if you any questions or concerns.

Happy Blogging.

Tristan Harris Speaking Today at Stanford’s Engineering Entrepreneurship Series

Andrew Machado

Today (February 16th) at 11am our CEO Tristan Harris will be speaking as part of the Graduate Seminar on Engineering Entrepreneurship Series.  If you are in the area should stop by the Terman Auditorium.

Topics discussed will be the following:

  • How to persuade yourself to keep working, even when you don’t get recognition for your work at the Stanford Senior Project Faire when your other friends do
  • How to cut deals with major premium publishing partners like the Washington Post, New York Times and Reuters with no starting connections
  • How do you pull together a team, raise an angel round and then Series A capital
  • How to personally transition your skills from Stanford Computer Science engineer to CEO and absorb information quickly
  • How to take advantage of your time at Stanford to take your venture into the real world

Hope to see you there!

BT’s These Hopeful Machines out today…

Andrew Machado

Today is a special day.  My favorite artist BT drops his latest CD These Hopeful Machines.  The reason I’m such a huge fan of his is the way in which he pushes technology to recreate his vision.  He is classically trained, but loves electronic music and combines the two to create some of the most well produced music I’ve ever heard.

Over the years you have probably have seen him pop up in Apple promotional videos…or heard his music in MonsterStealth or even The Fast And The Furious.

Today he releases his new piece of art spanning 2 CDs and nearly 2 hours of music its quite the opus.  Over the last six months he’s released 3 singles from the album including Rose of Jericho (which I’ve linked to on the Apture team page), Every Other Way and the first true single for the album Suddenly.

Suddenly kicks off the album with 8 minutes of blistering speed and power chorus.  Its reminiscent of Somnabulist (which sits in the Guinness Book of World Records for most vocal edits in song ever at 6,178) in its structure, but adds a new dimension with Christian Burns singing on the track.

The 11 remaining tracks feature everything from his daughter singing, break beats and some insane production.  He pushes technology to its utter limits and I’m sure is very excited about the future of music leveraging 64bit computing.
The album is awesome, I hope you go check it out on iTunes or Amazon.  If you are a fan leave a comment we’ll be happy to recommend other albums you should check out.
