Apture and Kiw.is = URL shortening with a twist

Andrew Machado

Today we are proud to announce Apture integration into Kiw.is. What exactly is Kiw.is? It is a way to not only shorten URLs for popular social platforms like Twitter, but it allows you to display a 10 second messages for viewers of your link before they are redirected.

Take for example this link to the Apture Tips & Tricks Page. http://kiw.is/5q

Instead of simply being redirected like most other services I am able to give the viewer some context about where they are being redirected to and even include some copy and dynamic Apture content.  Below is an example showing a live Twitter feed in addition to text.

To enable Apture in your Kiw.is links, simply publish your url to Kiw.is and when you are writing your custom message check the Enable Apture button.

After enabling Apture visit your newly created link and hit the “e” on your keyboard to enbable Apture editing capability.  Make sure to hit the pause button in the upper right corner so you are not redirected to the original link before you have finished editing.

If you are interested in trying Kiw.is they have given us 100 first come first serve beta invites.  The code is apture and you can signup here.
