Wait just a second while we catch our breath here around the Apture office.
Okay. If you saw the Apture Twitter Viewer, announced yesterday, it’s likely that you’ve also already seen our funding announcement. We’re thrilled (Apture is so thrilling these days!) to announce that we have closed our Series A funding – $4.1 Million, led by Clearstone Venture Partners. You can read the press release, of course, and some more information about our backers — Clearstone, Beau Vrolyk, Paul Maritz, and Steve Taylor.
What this means is that we are forging ahead in our pursuit to change the way that you browse and access content on the web, and that big things are coming your way as a follower and user of Apture. We can’t say exactly what’s up our sleeves, but there are some awesome projects going on here in the Bay Area, and that you’ll reap the benefits of our hard work soon.
In the meantime, we wanted to take an opportunity to credit those who’ve been giving us great coverage, and bring you into the fold of the story that’s being told about us out on the web:
- TechCrunch’s Robin Wauters offers a nice feature round-up and explanation of all you can do with Apture.
- The Deal has a Q&A with David Stern, a partner at Clearstone Venture Partners, and one of Apture’s new board members.
- You can read about our funding as well as more about the Twitter Viewer over on VentureBeat.
- What’s in it for publishers? The Silicon Alley Insider talks about the benefits of contextual links and engagement.
- Then there’s all those fabulous comments from you! One of our favorites is this one, completely encompassing all that we do, from Taylor Norrish: “Apture makes a fluid, fast, attractive way to dive into more information without losing your place.” YES!
As always, we love your comments and feedback – please share them with us! Leave a comment here, or for the very latest on Apture, follow us on Twitter!
