Knight Foundation Using Apture on Its Website

Tristan

The Knight Foundation, which sponsors and promotes projects that “transform journalism and communities” is now using Apture on its website.  You can see it by visiting the home page, and watch Tim Berner’s Lee’s speech, along with his Wikipedia biography.

I met the Knight Foundation directors when I was out in Washington D.C. for the Online News Association conference.  They have a fantastic new space in the Newseum, an original museum showcasing the history of journalism and newspapers in the United States, complete with displays of old newspaper front pages from important days in world history.  If you’re ever in DC, you should really take a look.

We have a long friendship and affiliation with the Knights, as they help sponsor the Knight Fellows who come to Stanford University every year.  In 2005 and 2006, we spent many months of the year in fun, engaging conversations with some remarkable people who understood how much the industry was changing at that time.  That’s why I’m so excited to see how Apture is being used on their site.

Tristan met Jon at BlogWorld last weekend, and was immediately impressed with his site.  We’re thrilled to see that he’s using Apture, and his readers are just as appreciative of the addition.

If you love aircraft like I do, this is the blog for you.  Jon Ostrower really knows his stuff and fortunately for the rest of us, he wants to share the wealth.  Throughout his site,  Jon uses Apture links to images, documents and video to enhance his entries and engage his readers.  In this example, Jon incorporates related documentation from Scribd about Quantas’ JetStar, as well as Images of the revamped Airbus A350 into a post about the IAM Strike and its impact on Quantas’ 787s. Check out more from Jon by visiting his blog page, FlightGlobal.com/blogs/flightblogger

You can create this Apture Experience on your own with no trouble at all.  Visit our Help Wiki for step by step instructions on Apture Linking to a Document and Apture Linking to an Image.
